The
picture of RK Laxman still is the identity of a common man. However, are the
hardships, he goes through them bruised but unnerved. The value of tolerance
and outreach are both balancing each other. When one exceeds, the other buffers
it and these days… duh! There are many a problems which otherwise remain
unnoticed if no outrage is there about it. Thanks to internet there are many
fair and foul deeds done.

Sadly enough, the TV media houses are indulged in
showing news in regards to a specific trend to favor their bosses. In such
scenario internet remains the only neutral medium to portray what's really
wrong. Only stand-up comedy and comedians are the responsible reformists in our
country left('left' in the sense, remaining nothing else!!) as of now! It is hard to be on no one’s side and say the truth. Recently I came
across the EIC outrage. It is east India comedy, a group of stand-up comedians
voicing their opinion regarding current situation in our country. From March
this year, they have released 4 outrages available on their YouTube channel. Very
first one is about Nirav Modi and Choksi scam and how the government wasn’t
informed about it or pretended to be so also it shows the ugly side of TV
journalism that showed hideous deductions about actress Sridevi’s death. Not
strange, but Nirav Modi accompanied Narendra Modi last year as a part of Prime
Minister's delegation to Davos. Some media houses like the Republic TV said
that Nirav Modi was unknowingly present in the delegation with no information
whatsoever to Prime Minister’s officials.
In
second outrage the famous Aadhar card has been discussed. The Aadhar Card
deadline was rather a nightmare for many. The ‘Aadhar’ has tremendous
ambiguities. The apex court has said Aadhaar isn't mandatory. But still, every
government benefit comes within our identity proof the Aadhar card. The irony
is you can print an Aadhar card if you have name, address, photo, Photoshop and
black & white printer. The details of ‘Aadhar’ are leaked to the
extent that if you Google Aadhar card .PDF you get PDF links to random peoples’
‘Aadhar’ details and even Excel sheets pop up with same search keyword
and .xls extension.
Third
one is a shocker. The news took ample time to spread around TV media. It is
about SSC, the staff selection commission. The scam was penetrating the
uppermost level. Bribing for posts, leaked answer sheets, mobile video shooting
inside exam hall was all the shit that was
going on! The Vyapam scam was the very foundation for all these scams to surface. These scams are/were so prolific
that many government jobs need something to be exchanged 'under the table'.
Not even the government
exams but the private jobs too, are under the clutches of something called the consultancy Services. The penetration is not that much deep until now but it is
going to if not paid enough attention.
Fourth
one came into purview after the recent elections in the Northeast. Seven
sisters are actually 8 states. Do you know that? No, right? Because Sikkim was
added to the seven sisters fifteen years back. But some fancy name catches the attention!
This is the most insurgency prone and regions close to China border. The AFSPA
act is something that is imposed in most of these areas. The reason being given
that these are infiltration prone areas. The AFSPA act has its pros and cons. It
gives the army, full autonomy to take action on anyone without prior knowledge
in the area.
The act has its boon and bane but the actions of army are seen to be actions of a man with proper training and values. The legal immunity is where we can smell the rat. The instances of fake encounters are on the rise in eastern regions of Manipur as high as 1528 until 2016. That's an alarming situation. The rewards and awards given to the army are based on points on arrest surrender and kill with ascending order. AFSPA is the problem and not the army. To earn those pointers, corrupt individuals would surely go for fake encounters. Actually, AFSPA is an act promulgated by the British and still going on. There are many such laws prevailing even after seventy years of British leaving our country. I rest my case!
That's it for the outrage. Peace out!!
